New meeting place? New meeting time? Alternative?
« on: June 18, 2012, 08:29:59 AM »
Good day all;

I'm over at Webster's this AM, and the thought occurs to me, why not have meetings here?

Couple of points in favor, (despite the parking issue) It's a more public venue than the municipal
bldg, and may draw some passer-bys in, which is a good thing, and I think the space is just more
friendly.

I -personally- have a difficult time with the 7-9pm time frame, as I am usually up and around by 5am, and asleep by 9pm, so even when I do make it, I often feel moved to leave early.

If anyone is interested, I'd like to try to kick off a Transition State College meeting at 6:30-8pm at Webster's. Please note, It isn't my intention to replace the regular meeting at the Municipal Bldg, but
rather the extend the reach, to  bring more folks in.

Thoughts?

I'm a fan of Websters, and now using that for other groups meetings as well.

6:30-8 works for me.

Any particular nights work better?

I can mention this at the Food Committee meeting tonight to solicit for interest (which I just decided to go to, given a previous commitment cancellation).

Have to speak to Elaine, but I was thinking 1st and 3rd Thursdays, if it takes.

How about we try next Thursday July 5 at 6:30, see what happens?

Hi Chip,

I know Holly and I won't be able to make this Thursday.

Maybe the one on the 19th.  Hmm, it seems we were already trying to plan for meeting with another group at 7:30 at Websters that day.

At any rate, you may also want to try to reach people via the google group so they don't miss it here.

Yeah,

I'm canning it. no interest.

I'll tell Elaine in the AM.

Hope ya'll are having a great 4th.

I still want to go for the alternative venue. Some folks might enjoy the cool sterile nature of governmental buildings, and I am certainly glad for the resource. But given the choice, I'd much prefer meeting in friendly environs.
